A poll found that a majority of Americans – 60 percent – “strongly oppose” the Democratic Party’s “transgender agenda.” Despite this, Vice President Kamala Harris still heavily campaigned on protecting and expanding transgender rights.
In the recent survey conducted by Rasmussen reports on over 2,000 voters between Oct. 22 to 24, 65 percent expressed opposition to transgender women competing in sports with biological women. Out of this number, 50 percent said they “strongly oppose” the idea while 15 percent were “somewhat opposed” to the idea.
Only 25 percent of voters expressed support for transgender women – biological men – being able to compete in women’s sports, with 11 percent of saying they “strongly support” it while 14 percent said they “somewhat support” it.
The survey also found that when asked if they supported the idea of biological men who identify as transgender using women’s restrooms, 64 percent expressed opposition. Out of this number, 53 percent said they “strongly oppose” the idea, while 11 percent said they “somewhat oppose” the idea.
Almost 30 percent of likely voters surveyed expressed that they supported transgender men being able to use women’s restrooms. Out of this number, 13 percent said they “strongly support” the idea, while 16 percent said they “somewhat support” it.
The survey also found that 64 percent of likely voters oppose “taxpayer funding for transgender medical treatments.” Out of this number, 52 percent “strongly oppose” the idea, while 12 percent “somewhat oppose” it. Only less than 30 percent express support, with 12 percent saying they “strongly support” the idea and 16 percent saying they “somewhat support” it.
Meanwhile, President-elect Donald Trump spent tens of millions of dollars on political ads focusing on how the transgender agenda negatively affects Americans in the weeks leading up to Election Day.
Since Oct. 1, data from AdImpact noted that the Trump campaign spent nearly $20 million on television ads that aired over 55,000 times warning about the expansion of the transgender agenda under the Democratic Party. (Related: Gender-confused Democrat ARRESTED for saying he wanted to shoot Trump.)
In a recent survey, majority of Americans “strongly oppose” the Democratic Party’s transgender agenda of men participating in women’s sports and men using women’s bathrooms.
Analysts note that the Republican campaign against transgenderism may have helped the party earn back “crucial support” from female voters.
“One of the things you see in the focus groups is the moms get really visibly angry on this issue,” Jim McLaughlin, a GOP pollster said in an interview with the New York Times. “It’s a fairness issue. They don’t want their daughters to lose a scholarship, and they don’t want them to get hurt.”
The Trump campaign knew that a line about “keeping men out of women’s sports” often gets the most applause at his rallies. “It’s the last thing on Earth they want to talk about. So we’ll talk about it for them,” said Chris LaCivita, Trump’s co-campaign manager.
