Arson and the destruction of property is not a legal form of protest. Vandalism and shooting law enforcement officers is not peaceful assembly. Stealing from businesses and beating up innocent people is not justice. These are all acts of terror.
Cities across the United States are currently being overrun by these acts of hatred and malice, and one member of Congress is openly supporting the civil unrest and the “protestors.” This member of Congress, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez D-N.Y. took to Instagram giving advice for protestors on how to conceal their identity, how to stay safe and be well equipped.
As an ally to the “protestors,” Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez instructed them to wear “nondescript, solid color, layered clothing” and to “cover identifying tattoos.” Among the items that protestors are recommended to bring include: goggles, masks, and heat resistant gloves. Cortez also recommends that “protestors” leave their phones behind unless they first turn off Face/Touch ID, put the device on airplane mode and disable data.
She said that protestors should take directions from “grassroots black organizers.” “They have been at this a long time and are disciplined in the ropes of community organizing and demonstration,” she says.
She also spoke critically about those who are calling for a stop to the civil unrest. “If you are calling for an end to this unrest, and if you are a calling for an end to all of this, but you are not calling for the end of the conditions that created the unrest, you are a hypocrite,” she remarked on Instagram as “protestors” continued on into their fourth night of destruction, burning down a DC church, defacing national monuments, and injuring scores of secret service outside the White House.
Ultimately, she wants her supporters to blame the violence on “white supremacists.” “There are increasing reports and investigations that white supremacists may be infiltrating these protests, breaking windows and destroying property,” she said on Instagram. “If anything seems off to you, DOCUMENT IT.”
The destruction of property and violence toward law enforcement is primarily being escalated by members of the Antifa group, which is now considered a domestic terrorist organization by the federal government. Police brutality may or may not be racially motivated; this is difficult to prove. Mob violence may or may may not be racially motivated as well, but race doesn’t matter when it comes to upholding the rule of law. Each case of police brutality and each case of looting, arson, vandalism, and assault should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, regardless of creed, skin color, or heritage.
The Congresswoman in question should be investigated before she is voted out of office.
The irony in all these violent “protests” is that anarchy always leads to more aggressive policing tactics, not less police brutality. While police brutality must be resolved, the violence and destruction coming from an angry, unrestrained mob is an even greater threat to the rule of law. As left-leaning mayors and governors respond weakly to the violence, as Congress members like Ocasio-Cortez condone these destructive “protests,” the anarchist mob will grow even more powerful, threatening the security of all.
The upcoming martial law crackdown on Antifa and their collaborators could very well escalate into full blown civil war throughout America.
