The Women’s and Gender Studies program at The College at Brockport in New York has released a new paper which contends that raising cows for milk amounts to the “sexual exploitation” and “gendered oppression” of bovine creatures by the evil patriarchy.
Entitled, “Readying the Rape Rack: Feminism and the Exploitation of Non-Human Reproductive Systems,” the paper refers to female milking cows as “non-human bodies” that are supposedly being taken advantage of by farmers, much like how human “women’s health has been at stake for years” as a result of increased scrutiny over abortion.
The dairy industry, according to Mackenzie April, the paper’s author, is “a host for sex-based discrimination,” since only female cows are capable of producing milk. Milking facilities are thus sites where “sexual assault and objectification based on biological makeup are highly prevalent but ignored as we choose to neglect non-humans with whom we share a planet,” she claims.
In order to stop this system of bovine oppression, April says we all must stop drinking milk, for one. Secondly, we have to stop taking advantage of cows’ reproductive systems, as female cows have been “poked and prodded” for far too long, and it has to stop.
A Women’s Studies major, April further states that dairy farming “supports and exemplifies the degrading way in which we treat female bodies and reproductive health,” referring once again to people who would try to deny women unlimited access to abortion on demand. April’s hope is that, by tackling the issue of milking cows, feminists and other “social justice” warriors will “incorporate non-human bodies into their own feminist perspectives.”

As to be expected, April’s bizarre analysis of livestock “oppression” focuses solely on the female bovine, completely ignoring the many ways in which non-human male bodies, including those of bulls, are also “exploited” by farmers for both food and reproduction.
In other words, if we’re going to fairly and honestly discuss “gender-based oppression” within the animal kingdom using April’s methodology, then we also have to address how bulls are systematically slaughtered for their beef muscle, which they have far more of than (female) cows due to the fact that they’re males.
Bulls also routinely have their testicles cut off, which is an expression of anti-male sexism by farmers who are sexually exploiting these poor animals simply to make them easier to manage. This type of gender inequality in the stockyard is thus chipping away at male reproductive rights by limiting the ability of all bulls to procreate equally.
If all of this sounds certifiably insane, that’s because it is – and so is April’s contention that cattle-raising is sexist against women. Despite the fact that none of the creatures actually living inside the cattle pen give a single damn about being milked or even castrated, deranged feminists like April have convinced themselves that #MooToo is actually a thing to be taken seriously.
Why people like April do this kind of thing is simple: They hate all men, and actively look for new excuses to trash them, using animals if necessary.
“One of the cruelest things a person can do is not milk a cow regularly,” pointed out one informed Campus Reform commenter about April’s laughable contention that misogyny is hiding under every hay bale.
“They will be in pain because they need to be milked. Have you ever heard of mastitis? Good dairymen are stewards, not abusers. As Bugs Bunny would say: ‘What a bunch of maroons!'”
