For decades, beginning in the late 1960s-early 1970s, critical race theory was an obscure hypothesis limited to academia, but in recent years it has been increasingly introduced into American society, exploited by the Marxist left as a means of dividing — and conquering — our society.
In the months following the George Floyd murder, left-wing hacks in academia, the media, the military and corporate America have adopted CRT’s central premise: That our country’s institutions were founded during a period of slavery and racism, therefore, all of them remain premised on racism, despite the ratification of several constitutional amendments shoring up our original concepts of equality as well as a host of federal and state laws guaranteeing equality.
But these people don’t want “equality,” they want “equity” — that is, they think they are ‘owed’ something they have not earned and do not deserve, so they impose this garbage, divisive theory on our society as a means of shaming the population into granting their demands.
And it has spread increasingly to corporate America, especially, the latest example being Big Pharma retailer CVS, according to Chris Rufo of City Journal, who has been following the rapid advancement of this culturally and societally destructive curriculum:
Last year, CVS Health Corporation—the largest pharmacy chain in the United States—paid then-CEO Larry Merlo almost 618 times the median company wage, while simultaneously launching a mandatory “antiracist” training program for hourly employees to deconstruct their “privilege.”
I have received whistleblower documents from inside CVS that reveal the company’s extensive race-reeducation program, which is built on the core tenets of critical race theory, including “intersectionality,” “white privilege,” and “unconscious bias.”
Merlo, who has since retired, as part of the ‘training’ booked a ‘conversation’ with Boston University professor Ibram Kendi, a stone black racist who told all 25,000 CVS employees he has never met that “to be born in [the United States] is to literally have racist ideas rain on our head consistently and constantly.”
Again, this divisive gaslighter says these things knowing that our country fought a Civil War, passed several constitutional amendments, and a number of laws specifically for the purpose of ensuring our founders’ vision of true equality among all Americans could be fully realized.
Kendi claimed that Americans are “walking through society completely soaked in racist ideas,” to include children as young as two to three years old.
“Our kids are basically functioning on racist ideas, choosing who to play with based on the kid’s skin color,” Kendi claimed without a shred of proof. Therefore, the solution, he says, is to “diagnose” employees as “racist” so as to help them become “antiracist” and “stop hurting somebody else.”
Meanwhile, this black ‘academic’ can spread his racist ideas to whites, Asians and Hispanics at will.
Rufo notes, “Predictably, the program has provoked dissent. One CVS worker, who requested anonymity out of fear of reprisals, blasted the new program.”
“I have worked at CVS a long time, and we have never had a problem with discrimination or division. Quite the opposite: People of diverse backgrounds always have pulled together to solve complex problems,” the employee said, relating what actually happens at 99.9 percent of every business in the country.
The employee then predicted: “Long-term, talent will drain, morale will suffer, and resentment will spread. This will contaminate our culture and threaten our long-term success.”
Of course, those things are true; who wants to work in an environment where they are constantly being called a racist simply because of the color of their skin?
Isn’t that exactly the kind of racial bias black (and white) activists were fighting against in the 1950s and 1960s?
For all our progress on civil rights and racial disparities, the left — using gaslighters like Kendi — is trying to spark war and conflict between races because that’s how leftists cause revolutions.
